Civil Engineering is a professional discipline that deals with the design, construction, and maintenance of the physical and naturally built environment. Civil Engineers evaluate and design drainage, grading and public works projects such as roads and bridges, stream design, sewerage systems, and structural components of buildings and homes.
We offer many services including building plans for homes and additions, septic design (particularly NYC Watershed replacement systems), stormwater management, retaining walls, bridge design and more.

LAND SURVEYING
Land Surveying is the technique of determining the positions of points and the distances and angles between them. These points are used to establish maps and boundaries for ownership, locations, such as the designed positions of structural components for construction or other purposes such as real property transactions.
We offer residential and commercial surveying, boundary and title surveys, easement mapping, FEMA elevation certificates, topographic surveying
and more.

Burgher & Emrich, PLLC was founded in 2021 by life-long friends and Ulster County residents, Nicholas Burgher, P.L.S. and Andrew Emrich, P.E. Both grew up in the Town of Olive and are well positioned to offer Professional Engineering and Land Surveying services with local sensibilities.
Andrew Emrich, P.E. possesses a Degree in Management from Syracuse University and a Degree in Civil Engineering from the City College of New York. He obtained his Masters's Degree in Structural Engineering from NC State, has Level 4 Wildland Hydrology® training and served on the Town of Olive Flood Commission.
Nicholas Burgher, P.L.S. is a Veteran Airman and a graduate of both Paul Smith's College and University of Maine with Associate's and Bachelor's Degrees in Surveying Technology. He also served on the Town of Olive Flood Commission and is an active member of the Town of Olive Planning Board.
Combined, Nicholas Burgher and Andrew Emrich have over twenty-five years experience serving the residents of the Catskills and Hudson Valley; solving for a variety of civil, structural and land-use matters with community knowledge and a broad technical skill set.
